The Pro Arte- Munkács NGO, settles the X. Transcarpathian International Sculpture Symposium, which gives opportunity to sculptors from all over the world to introduce their art in western Ukraine.

Participate in the tender call can every artist who has enough experience to make their work in 14 days.

Theme: “Water”.

Water is fluid, soft, and yielding. But water will wear away rock, which is rigid and cannot yield. As a rule, whatever is fluid, soft, and yielding will overcome whatever is rigid and hard. This is another paradox: what is soft is strong. (Lao Tzu)

In Zakarpatya region there is more than 150 mineral water wells, and 8 thermal wells, which has great influence in the development of tourism.

Deadline 20 March 2022. The jury of the symposium will announce the results of the
tender call on 30s of March.

Conditions of the tender:

1. Short C. V., photos of works not older than 5 years, list of participating symposiums of last 5 years
2. Sketch of sculpture to the given theme (Dimensions of stone max 200x100x100 cm) Please include a top, front, back and side view of the sculpture. Photographs of a model of the sculpture are welcome.
3. Short description of the sculpture
4. Other materials (if necessary)
5. Dimensions of the sculpture with parameters of the postament

General conditions

At the time of the symposium working allowed between 8:00 and 19:00. On Sundays working is not allowed. Every sculptor is responsible of his own life/health insurance.

If the chosen sculptor cannot participate on symposium, then inform us before 10s of April.

Accommodation and refunds.

At the time of symposium the organisators provide the participants accommodation and full board in Kvitka Polonini sanatory ( http://kvitkapolonyny.com/).
After the end of symposium every participant get 600 EUR in UAH, 100 of them receive after the day of arrival.

Working conditions and materials:

Sandstone dimensions max 180*60*100 (the stone is raw, different dimensions), also available metal

Sculptors competing will be provided with covered workplace, mains current (220 V), as required, extension, compressed air (7 bar), lifting devices, drill bits and large impact drill, splitting wedges, water, each artist gets a piece of 230 mm diameter diamond disc and 125 one.

Sculptors competing must supply their own sculpting tools. You are responsible for the safety and security of all your carving tools and equipment. A secure lock up area will be provided.

If there are any necessary materials or tools to complete the sculpture please inform us not later than 3 weeks before start of the symposium, include an exact description of the necessary tool, and please argument of its necessity.

Insurance:

All participants must acquire personal health insurance coverage prior to the event. The Pro Arte- Munkacs NGO will not be held responsible for healthcare claims, theft, losses or damages incurred during the event.
